17th Annual Blue Jean Ball
September 29 @ 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm
The 2017 Blue Jean Ball will be a “Tribute to a True Southern Legacy,” honoring Auburn University’s legendary football coach Pat Dye. The annual fundraiser for the Auburn University School of Nursing and Auburn University Montgomery School of Nursing will be held at Dye’s Crooked Oaks Hunting Lodge in Notasulga on Friday, Sept. 29. Starting at 5 p.m., nursing students will serve Conecuh sausage. Haflinger-drawn and mule-drawn wagon rides will be offered. Music will be provided by Kidd Blue and Jay Hughes. The lodge store will be open and artist Barbara Davis will be available. Dinner with all the fixin’s from Moe’s Original BBQ and samplings from the Organized Seafood Association’s catch will be served from 5:30-8 p.m. Birds of prey from the College of Veterinary Medicine’s Southeastern Raptor Center will be available for photographs from 6:30-7:30 p.m. In tribute to Dye, he and some former players will take an hour, starting at 7:30 p.m., to reflect on their historic time together. Dye and Auburn men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl will emcee the live auction at 8:30 p.m., followed by a final set from Kidd Blue. Now in its 17th year, the Blue Jean Ball benefits nursing faculty, program support and scholarships for current nursing students at Auburn and Auburn Montgomery. Individual tickets are available for $150 each. Reservations must be made in advance. For more information or to order tickets, go to www.auburn.edu/bluejeanball or call 334-844-7390.
