2nd annual Auburn/Opelika Diabetes Walk for Camp Seale Harris
April 22 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
The 2nd annual Auburn/Opelika Diabetes Walk for Camp Seale Harris will be taking place here in our community on Sunday, April 22, 2017.
The 2017 Diabetes Walk for Camp Seale Harris is a regional fundraising campaign supporting the thousands of local children and their families facing the challenges of living with Type 1 diabetes. Diabetes is a disease these children could not prevent, they will not outgrow, and there is no cure.
The 2017 Diabetes Walk for Camp Seale Harris will help to show those affected that their community does care. Funds raised make an immediate impact by helping diabetic children and families at Camp Seale Harris. Camp Seale Harris saves and improves lives of diabetic children by providing care and learning to manage this very difficult condition. Additionally, Camp Seale Harris support groups in East Alabama help children with diabetes year round. Kids and families learn critical diabetes care skills and receive support and inspiration needed to reach their full potential.
Since 1949, Camp Seale Harris has provided a powerful, safe and fun diabetes education camp experience for thousands of youth with diabetes. All Camp Seale Harris programs are provided by Southeastern Diabetes Education Services, a 501c3 non-profit. SDES is the only organization in our state providing comprehensive out of hospital diabetes education and support services to children and families.
